The Ministry of Commerce, Planning and Infrastructure honoured its top staff members through the Employee of the Year award scheme.
Taking the title of Department Employee of the Year is Jovian Garcia. Mr. Garcia is a Senior System Administrator with the Computer Services Department (CSD). He has been working with the department for 11 years and provides technical services to CSD customers and works to resolve IT related issues. Department heads were encouraged to nominate employees who were hard working, dedicated and collaborative. Four other Ministry employees were also honoured for their efforts.
"We’re thrilled to be able to recognise these outstanding employees within our Ministry," commented Chief Officer Alan Jones. "The nomination form is quite rigorous, it covers areas such as customer service, team work, productivity, cost savings, and dependability and the gentlemen honoured this year really exemplify the best of these qualities."
"I thank and congratulate each person that was recognised this year," said Minister Joey Hew. "Something that was really telling is that each time we announced one of the honourees there were cheers from their fellow colleagues. That’s the mark of a great employee. Their hard work allows our Ministry to provide the best service to the people of the Cayman Islands."
